Re: Compairing PC to Mac

Well, here in Brazil, I worked with PC and MAC, and now, I have a new perspective about computers.

The PC is good, because have so many programs and games, and have so much hardwares configurations. But is unstable and have much bugs.

I prefer the MAC, haven't many programs and games, but is stable, is recommended for hard works, like modeling 3/4D, images, and others.

If you have money, buy a MAC.

If you need a computer for game, use a PC, but if be to work, use a MAC ( when you want play games, use xbox 360 or playstation  )

Personally, I prefer PC over Mac. And besides PC is way more popular than Mac.

Re: Compairing PC to Mac

I don't have a particular preference of PC over MAC for the simple reason that I have never been working on a Mac computer for very long (a few times at school in order to navigate the internet, which is a very restrictive use). At this time, I don't plan to switch to Mac computers because most software can be found only for PC and companies usually work with PCs ...

True, most software would prefer run in PC. Company IBM use a lot of PC, correct? Or do they use Mac a lot too?

Re: Compairing PC to Mac

IBM proposes only PCs to its employee (at least in the Global Business Service branch in Paris); I believe one of the problems with using Mac computers instead of PC would be the associated training costs. Also, using both standards would increase exposure to compatibility issues, therefore companies have to choose.
By the way, could you think of a (non IT-related) company that would use only Mac computers ?

johnny November 9th, 2009 02:25 PM

Oh, I see. Yeah using one specific standard would make it easier and cost less.

I went to this elementary school in US that only used Mac computers when I was young, but I've heard they changed it to all PCs now. Of course Apple company uses Mac computers (duh) but it's IT-related.

Personally I use PC and I`m satisfied with it. I don`t have problems and I`m running Win XP.
Mac is more stable but it is rarely used, mostly designers use it. (I don`t know why)
But I would vote for PC. :P

If you need gaming - use PC. If you want to work - use PC (companies usually uses specific software). If you want to design - use PC or Mac. So pc is the winner :D
