Re: keylogger problem

You should reinstall the operating system, just to make sure that your computer comes clean ... these keyloggers are a pain (especially that you cannot be sure that it comes trojan-safe). I've already used a keylogger in the past but I custom-coded it myself, so that I know what I am really using

Re: keylogger problem

wait...is this keylogger to keep a local file or does it send information over a network?
Where did you get the keylogger?
and if I were you I would just run a live disc and remove the files related to the program as this would clean remove it.
Or remove it from start-up items then delete the files normally.
If its the system's password then run a mac install disc until you reach the point where a terminal is accessible and modify the file /etc/passwd to change the password.
Also if you install the OS ontop of itself without formatting the drive Mac's will keep everything as it is.

Re: keylogger problem

Can you go to system preferences and then users...

There is a tab for the administrator for login items...is it listed there? If so, just remove it and it won't startup when the computer is started.

Otherwise you can do a quick google search for how do it manually using the terminal to edit the configs for what launches when the computer boots up.

Re: keylogger problem

A keylogger records the key strokes of your keyboard, whether it's Mac or Windows,it's still the same keyboard..
