So.. hello everybody. It appears I have the first post (not counting Julien's news post) Anyway, hello everyone; I look forward to many a nerdy discussion: arguments about C vs Java vs Perl Vs Python vs Lisp... and I think we all know that the Lispers are in the right... ![]() I'm a CS/Math double major at Illinois Tech, and plan on continuing on to grad school, and probably becoming a professor. Hobbies include math, computers, Classic literature, poetry, philosophy, and rock climbing... There are others in there, but they just don't matter. Anyway, cheers! Cory |

I'm a new registered user in this forum, so I would like to introduce myself, too. I have been registered in julien's mymathforum.com forum for about 8 months now, and it's great to see a new forum of julien's, and I'm really looking toward having great time in here!

Thanks guys ! Actually I am less a computer guy than I am a math guy (after all, I was a math teacher until very recently when I decided to turn into a finance guy). Actually, I have the level of one year less than a Bachelor degree, i.e I'd need one full yeat at university before being awarded my BchS in computer science. I don't intend in doing it though, as my Math + Business double qualification is going to keep me busy enough for the rest of my days. Anyway, I consider Computer Science as a very useful tool and I am currently studying Php/Mysql with the intent of developing innovative scripts and possibly websites (without always having to rely on third-party software).

Yeah... I was shocked to be the first non-admin poster.... And javac... clever title you have there. Too bad the sight of that command makes me cringe... I'll try not to hold it against you ![]() Although my Data Structures professor is a fan of unit testing, so I see a lot more of '%make compile %make tests' |

Well, I thought I'd sign up too. I've been rather busy with other things lately, but I might get a chance to post here and there anyway. ![]() |

Hmmm... It seems like I partially double-posted. How do you delete posts on this forum?

Well, I've seen we've got a bunch of computer science enthusiasts ! True Infinity, everything's more complex to manage with this forum because the possibilities are incredibly more complex (more filters, much more admin options); this is the reason why I haven't given moderation options yet (I'll probably wait until I have some spare time to write down some kind of "how to" chart; the moderation control panel is actually very complicated to deal with).

Isn't it possible to delete your own posts, though, even if you are not a moderator?

Hi, my name is Charles. I was raised by a she-wolf with my brother Remus until he jumped over my wall... I had to kill him for that. Now I do math and programming to stay sane.

Hello again, Charles R. Greathouse! Glad to see you here, too! (Just a note to everyone else: His sanity seems to be slipping somewhat, but other than that he's the same as he was on the math forum. Just for the record, he won't be able to see this part of my post, because I recited a magic spell over the thing that only allows people who are not named Charles R. Greathouse to read the text contained within these parentheses. I'm so clever, aren't I? :mrgreen ![]() |
