I haven't tried Windows 7 ultimate. I was able to use the beta version thought. And it was..Super-B! Just that alot of games and applications are still not compatible. Very common with newly released OS

Yeah ... while Windows 7 is a Windows product, let's not forget about the compatibility issues ... I'll need to make sure that most of my (commercial) applications can be used with Windows 7 before I purchase a new computer with that operating system preinstalled on it.

Actually, I am wondering about Windows 7 starter. I consider buying a netbook and most of them come with Windows 7 Starter; however, I have read a few comments about people complaining that this edition is not functional enough (i.e. Windows 7 ultimate would be necessary). Could anyone advise on this point ?

I don't have the necessary working experience on Windows 7 yet, but I like it better than Windows Vista.
