HTML compatibility in forwarded emails

My question, that actually comes from my boss, is pretty simple.

When we forward emails that initially displayed well, they sometimes don't display right on the receiver's screen when the sender uses Outlook and receiver Mail 3.6 or vice-versa.
On the other hand, there are some emails that display right in any case.

We think it depends on the way they have been HTML programmed. Are we right on this one?

If yes, what kind of html programming can we and can't we use so that the forwarded emails always display right?

Re: HTML compatibility in forwarded emails

HTML is HTML, I don't think that it has anything to do with how the HTML pages are being 'programmed' (I also want to argue that HTML is more of a formatting scheme than a programming language, but that's a topic for another day). It might have something to do with how each program is configured. I'd assume if you had a System Administrator for your network that you would have asked him/her already, if not, do so, they are probably more knowledgable than I am. If you don't have a SysAdmin then you might look around in the options/preferences menus (usually located under an options or tools menu). You might have things set up to forward emails as plain text, or visa-versa, and different people may have different settings, which is why it happens sometimes, but not all the time, and seems inconsistent.
